Data Processing in Third Countries

Where, in accordance with the explanations above, we transfer your data to entities in countries outside the EU or the EEA (hereinafter referred to as “third countries”), we ensure before the transfer that, except in cases permitted by law, either an adequate level of data protection exists at the recipient or you consent to the data transfer. Please contact us using the contact details provided above if you would like to receive a copy of the specific safeguards used for transferring your data to third countries.

Data processing by Meta Ireland, Google Ireland and LinkedIn Ireland regularly also takes place in third countries, in particular the United States.

Meta’s parent company Meta Platforms, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The corresponding certificate can be found here: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list. Any data transfers to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States are therefore covered by the corresponding adequacy decision of the European Commission pursuant to Article 45(3) GDPR (https://commission.europa.eu/document/fa09cbad-dd7d-4684-ae60-be03fcb0fddf_de).

In the event that the existing adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework is declared invalid in the future, we have already agreed, as a precaution, additional transfer instruments with the relevant service providers, in particular EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or will do so in good time where necessary.

Storage Period and Deletion

We store your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above or, where processing is based on consent, until you withdraw your consent. In the event of an objection, we will likewise no longer process your personal data unless further processing is permitted or required under the applicable legal provisions, for example under commercial and tax law retention obligations, or unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for further processing. We also delete your personal data where we are legally required to do so.

At least once a year, we review whether the personal data stored by us in connection with our social media presences is still necessary and carry out appropriate deletion routines, for example by initiating the deletion of messages sent to us.
